Terms & Conditions

1. Welcome and Agreement

Welcome to Care2Phone,
By using our website, purchasing products, or visiting our repair centre at 1/43 Devonport Road, Tauranga 3110, New Zealand, you agree to these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”).
These Terms apply to all services and sales provided by Care2Phone Tauranga — whether you visit our store in person, contact us by phone or email, make an online purchase, or send your device by courier.
If you do not agree, please do not use our services or website.


2. Services and Products

We provide:

  • Professional repairs for phones, tablets, laptops, MacBooks, and electronics.
  • Retail sales of new and pre-owned devices, parts, and accessories.
  • Trade-in and buy/sell programs for used devices.
    All prices and availability may change without notice.

3. Physical Inspection and Evaluation

Final verification of any device’s condition occurs only once it reaches our workshop.
Diagnostics determine the actual fault and cost. Quotes are estimates — if additional issues are found, you’ll be contacted for approval before we proceed.


4. Payments

Payment is required in full upon collection or before shipping.
Accepted payment methods include EFTPOS, bank transfer, Afterpay, Zip, and major credit/debit cards (card surcharges may apply).
All prices are in New Zealand Dollars (NZD) and include GST unless stated otherwise.

Pricing and Error Correction: We reserve the right to correct any typographical or system errors. If an error affects your order or quote, we will confirm, adjust, or cancel it before processing payment.


5. Data and Backup Responsibility

Customers are responsible for backing up all personal data before repair.
Care2Phone is not liable for loss of data, software, SIM cards, memory cards, or settings during diagnostic or repair processes.


6. Repairs and Warranty

  • All completed hardware repairs include a 90-day warranty covering only the replaced part and our workmanship.
  • Warranty excludes: physical damage, liquid damage, software faults, accidental drops, power surge, or misuse.
  • Liquid-damage repairs include a 30-day limited warranty only.
  • Out-of-warranty devices may not be restored to factory-new appearance or performance.
  • Any evidence of tampering or impact voids the warranty immediately.

Consumer Rights: Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under New Zealand consumer law.


7. Reporting Issues After Repair

Any post-repair concerns must be reported within 3 days of collection so we can assess and resolve them promptly.


8. Screen, Glass & Display Disclaimer

After-market screens may vary slightly in colour, brightness, or sensitivity compared with original manufacturer panels.
If you prefer OEM or original displays, please request pricing in advance.
Replacing cracked glass can occasionally damage the LCD/OLED; if this occurs, we’ll advise you and quote before continuing.

 

 

Special Note for iPhone X / XS / XS Max / XR / 11 / 11 Pro and newer OLED models:

  • True Tone requires data transfer from the original screen. While we perform this correctly, True Tone may not function if the original display data is incomplete or corrupted.
  • Green lines, flickering, unresponsive touch, screen lifting, or similar issues that occur due to impact, pressure, or liquid exposure are considered physical or OLED-panel damage and are not covered under warranty.
  • Warranty applies only to manufacturing defects in the replacement part, not to damage caused by drops or moisture.

9. Liquid Damage and Board Cleaning Service

Liquid cleaning reduces corrosion but cannot guarantee full recovery.
A working device may stop functioning after disassembly due to internal rust.
If cleaning resolves your issue, normal liquid-damage charges apply.
Care2Phone’s liability for any liquid-damage repair is limited to the service fee paid for that specific job.


10. Software Services and Limitations

Software work (malware removal, OS installation, updates, etc.) carries no warranty.
We are not responsible for issues arising from software resets, third-party apps, or later updates.


11. Trade-in and Buy/Sell Policy

All traded or sold devices are tested and graded for condition.
Once sold or exchanged, no return or refund is available unless the device is faulty within 7 days.


12. Unclaimed Devices and Storage

Devices uncollected for 30 days after completion may be deemed abandoned.
After reasonable contact attempts, Care2Phone may recycle or sell the device to recover costs.
Repaired items are stored free for 3 months; after that, storage fees may apply.


13. Shipping and Courier Policy

Online or mail-in orders are shipped via trusted couriers (NZ Post, DHL, etc.).
Risk of loss transfers to the customer once handed to the courier.
We’ll assist with courier claims but are not responsible for transit damage or delay.
Please inspect deliveries upon receipt.


14. Returns and Refunds (Products)

  • Returns are accepted within 7 days for defective items only.
  • Products must be unused and in original packaging.
  • “Change-of-mind” returns are not accepted once opened or used.
  • Refunds or replacements are issued after inspection; repair or replacement is offered first where practical.

15. Loaner Devices

If a temporary phone is provided, it must be returned within 7 days after repair completion or cancellation.
Customers are responsible for any loss, damage, or theft.


16. Independent Service Provider and Parts

Care2Phone is an independent third-party repair provider, not authorised by Apple, Samsung, or any other manufacturer.
We use high-quality OEM or equivalent parts from verified suppliers where originals are unavailable.
Replaced parts become property of Care2Phone after service.


17. Liability Limitation and Force Majeure

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Care2Phone is not liable for:

  • loss of data, profit, or opportunity;
  • incidental, indirect, or consequential damages; or
  • delays or inability to perform caused by events beyond our control (natural disasters, courier issues, power failures, supply shortages).
    Our total liability is limited to the amount paid for the relevant product or service.

18. Dispute Resolution

We aim to resolve all matters promptly and fairly.
Please contact us first before pursuing formal action.
Disputes are governed by New Zealand law and fall under the jurisdiction of New Zealand courts.
We reserve the right to pursue outstanding balances or costs through lawful means.


19. Communications Consent

By visiting our store or website, contacting us by phone, chat, SMS, or email, you consent to receive electronic communications from us.
Invoices, quotes, and notices sent this way satisfy all legal communication requirements.


20. Confidentiality and Disclosure

All customer information and recovered data are treated as confidential.
We do not disclose supplier details or sourcing information except when legally required.


21. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand.
If any provision is found unenforceable, the remainder shall continue in full effect.


22. Updates and Amendments

Care2Phone Tauranga reserves the right to update, modify, or replace these Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice.
Changes will appear on our website and apply immediately to all current and future transactions.
Continued use of our services or website after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
